We got new Global Goals Champions in Mumbai. The two finalist teams Oscar Foundation and Forca Goa played a brilliant match - they were both truly deserving - but team Forca Goa took the trophy and will represent India in the finals in New York, USA, September 2019 during the next UNGA.
We also had three other prizes to be won. Team SanScar won Best Action for the Global Goals, Team Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School won Best Crowd Engagement, and Team Myna Bol won Best Creative Style.
All 24 teams were spectacular, big hearted, creative in style, songs, who spent a full day cheering and celebrating the Global Goals. We at Sustainable Mindz are very thankful for having shared this day with you all.
We are still smiling from all the great memories and new friendships that were made in the last few days. GGWCup moves on to new locations. But the spirit of the tournament will live on through the teams and their continued commitment to fight for the global goals. All teams are now members of the growing Global Goals World Cup community of women all over the world, who play and take action for the world they want.
GGWCup Mumbai was possible thanks to the involvement of our sponsors, contributors, volunteers and media partners. At Sustainable Mindz we appreciate their stupendous support and we want to say THANK YOU! The goal was to leverage the universal power of soccer and women to excite and unite, and to direct that power towards realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The event was a great success, and we hope all participating enjoyed it as much as we did.
